Merrillville Officers Conduct Warrant Arrest of Man at Indiana Home on Multiple Child Molestation Charges

MERRILLVILLE, IN – An early morning warrant Thursday ended in the arrest of a man wanted on three charges of child molestation.

According to Merrillville Police, it happened in the 7700 block of Taney Place when the Merrillville Detective Bureau with the assistance of the Merrillville Tactical Apprehension Squad apprehended Renard Jenkins, who had an active felony warrant for three counts of Child Molesting.

Jenkins was apprehended with no issues. Officers remained in the area for several hours as they conducting an investigation. Local schools were notified prior to the arrest to prevent issues that could have put students at risk.

No further details have been made available in the case.
