Morris, IL – Grundy County residents have an opportunity to participate in an eco-conscious cleanup by recycling their unused electronics at the upcoming event hosted by the City of Morris, in collaboration with First America Recycling. This event will take place on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the First America Recycling facility located at 1000 E. Armstrong Street, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

State Senator Sue Rezin highlighted the importance of proper electronic waste disposal in her Facebook announcement, urging the community to take advantage of this local initiative. The recycling drive accepts a variety of electronic items, including cables, cell phones, computers, and even larger appliances like microwaves and printers. A special note is made that CRT TVs and monitors will incur a $25 recycling fee, payable only in cash. Items such as white goods, including stoves and refrigerators, will not be accepted.

Residents interested in participating or with questions about the event are encouraged to contact First America Recycling at the provided phone number. This initiative not only aids in decluttering homes but also serves as a step towards environmental responsibility by diverting e-waste from landfills and promoting recycling within Grundy County.
