Grundy County, IL – Residents Warned of Fake Deputy Scam

Grundy County, IL – Grundy County residents are being alerted to a phone scam involving an impostor posing as a law enforcement officer. 

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, an individual claiming to be “Deputy Simmons” has been calling local residents, fraudulently asking for money on behalf of the department. The Sheriff’s Office clarified that they do not solicit funds over the phone and confirmed that no one named Deputy Simmons is employed with them. 

Community members who encounter this scam are advised to refuse any monetary requests and to inform the caller of their fraudulent behavior. The department urges residents to remain vigilant and report any such interactions to the authorities.
