HAMMOND, Indiana – The FIT-Together program by Franciscan Health, aimed at enhancing family health and wellness, is now accepting registrations. Targeting households with children aged 7 to 13, this free six-week initiative focuses on the holistic well-being of families, incorporating elements of fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness.
As detailed by Franciscan Health, participants will benefit from a complimentary six-week family membership at the Hammond Family YMCA. The program features family fitness activities, nutritional education sessions, cooking demonstrations, meal kits for home use, and teachings on mindfulness and resilience, alongside various giveaways.
The program is scheduled to run on Tuesday evenings, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., starting April 2 through May 7, at the Hammond Family YMCA, located at 7322 Southeastern Ave. This effort is supported by collaborations between Franciscan Health, Crossroads YMCA, and the Purdue University Extension – Nutrition Education Program.
