Chicagoland, IL – Illinois faces a challenging morning as hazardous road conditions plague the state. According to recent reports, as of 4:20 am, most Illinois roads are slick and covered with snow. Strong northwest winds contribute to snow blowing and drifting, especially in open areas.

Commuters heading to work early are advised to allocate extra travel time. Rapidly falling temperatures mean that salt may be ineffective in melting snow and ice, with this trend expected to continue into the weekend. Stay updated and travel with caution.
