A GoFundMe campaign, organized by Morgan Laude on behalf of Emily Dome, Weylen’s mother, has notably amassed $27,015 of its $30,000 goal, with contributions from over 350 donors highlighting the widespread empathy and concern for the bereaved family.

The accident, which occurred late Thursday afternoon at the intersection of 12000 North Road and Illinois Route 50, claimed the lives of Lisa and Weylen when their vehicle was struck by a pickup truck after failing to stop at a stop sign. This loss has deeply affected the Wilmington community, prompting an exceptional outpouring of support.

Weylen, remembered for her vibrant spirit, love of animals, and creative talents, and her grandmother Lisa, are mourned by many. Their passing has ignited a collective effort to provide solace and assistance to Emily Dome during this tragic time. The Animal Clinic at New Lenox, where Emily is employed, has been a focal point of communal support, announcing a closure to honor the lives lost and stand in solidarity with their colleague and her family.

The fundraiser and the clinic’s temporary shutdown for the funeral underscore the community’s dedication to aiding one of its own in the face of tragedy.
