Homewood, IL – Second Arrest in December Carjacking Case

Homewood, IL – The Village of Homewood Police Department has announced a significant development in the December 2023 carjacking case. A second suspect has been apprehended in connection with the attempted vehicular hijacking and shooting that occurred in the 17900 block of Halsted Street.

On February 13, 2024, Quartez Dixon, 23, of Park Forest, IL, was taken into custody. Dixon faces multiple charges: one count of Attempted Murder (Class M Felony), one count of Armed Robbery with a firearm (Class X Felony), and one count of Unlawful Vehicular Invasion (Class 1 Felony). He is scheduled for a bond hearing at the Markham courthouse on February 14, 2024.

This follows the January 22 arrest of Deandre Adams, 20, from Harvey, IL, who was similarly charged in relation to the incident. The ongoing investigation by the Homewood Police Department underscores their commitment to addressing violent crime and ensuring community safety.
