Icy Conditions Prompt School Closures and Delays in Kankakee Area

Kankakee County, IL – A wave of school closures and delays have been announced due to icy conditions forecasted by the National Weather Service. 

According to the latest forecast the area anticipates freezing rain, which may lead to hazardous roads and prolonged icy conditions. Several educational institutions, including:

  • Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53: E-Learning day on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
  • Iroquois West CUSD 10: E-Learning day on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
  • Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School District 307: Late start on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, with classes beginning at 12:00 PM.
  • Bradley Elementary School District #61: Traditional snow day on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, with no E-Learning.
  • Bishop McNamara Catholic School: Late start on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, with classes beginning at 9:30 AM; potential for an E-Learning day to be confirmed.
  • Kankakee Community College: Classes canceled and facilities closed on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
  • Manteno School District: Remote learning day schedule for Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
  • Crete-Monee School District 201-U: Classes canceled and facilities closed on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. E-Learning Scheduled
