Indianapolis, IN – Woman Killed in N Dearborn House Fire

Indianapolis, IN – Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) firefighters faced a challenging situation on N. Dearborn Street Monday. 

Upon their arrival, the crew was met with intense flames engulfing a single-story home. Reports indicated multiple people were trapped inside. Braving the severe conditions, firefighters made entry through the front door and located a woman, who was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Firefighters entered the burning home through a side door amid heavy smoke, finding an unconscious man and swiftly brought him to safety. He received immediate advanced life support care and was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

The blaze was controlled within 15 minutes, and the cause is currently under investigation.
