Illinois and Indiana Collide in Car Fraud Scandal, Chicago Man Sought by Police

Schererville, IN – The Schererville Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Jaylan A Davis of Chicago after he allegedly used someone else’s information to fraudulently purchase a vehicle from an Indiana dealership last month. 

Davis is now facing multiple charges, including fraud, auto theft, identity deception, forgery, and counterfeiting.

Following an ongoing investigation since June 22, authorities were able to identify Davis as the individual involved in the fraudulent transaction. The vehicle, obtained through false information, was later recovered in Illinois.

The Schererville Police Department asks anyone with current information on the whereabouts of Davis to contact local police.
