Illinois Gas Station Employee Hospitalized After Assault Over $3.90 Drink

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – A Circle K gas station employee was taken to a local hospital after being assaulted by a customer over a $3.90 drink on Thursday morning. 

The incident occurred at the Circle K located at 59 E. Green St. in Champaign when the employee instructed the customer to leave after causing a disturbance. The customer proceeded to punch and kick the employee before leaving the store without paying for the drink. 

Police are currently investigating the incident and urge anyone with information to come forward.  No arrests have been made at this time.  

The condition of the station employee is currently unknown.
