JOLIET — Joliet West High School in Illinois saw an abrupt evacuation Monday morning, not due to an earlier believed projector explosion, but a refrigeration leak in the E building.

According to reports the malfunction created a haze, leading to initial reports of a motor-related smoke issue in the basement. Joliet Fire Department quickly clarified the situation and assured there were no injuries, although the school’s alarms keep sounding intermittently.

While the E building remains temporarily off-limits, students have been informed they can collect their belongings later today.
