Williamson County, IL – A serious breach of an order of protection led to a harrowing police chase and subsequent crash in rural Cambria, Illinois.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began Sunday when Larry D. Parsons, despite an order of protection, was allegedly found hiding in a woman’s bedroom closet. The encounter turned threatening as Parsons, armed with a knife, allegedly told the victim, “We’re both going to die tonight,” before striking her and preventing her escape.
Following the victim’s eventual escape and report, deputies encountered Parsons loading the victim’s possessions into his vehicle. A pursuit ensued, resulting in Parsons crashing his vehicle after a high-speed chase through Cambria, leading to a dramatic extraction from the wreckage by emergency responders.
Parsons faces several charges, including Aggravated Unlawful Restraint and Aggravated Assault. The authorities commend the collaborative efforts of local law enforcement and emergency services and encourage public assistance in their ongoing investigations.
