PARK RIDGE, Ill. – A man’s frustration over students stepping onto his lawn escalated to a street standoff on Goodwin and Virginia on Tuesday.

According to Park Ridge police reports, officers arrived at 3:25 p.m. to find Robert Horn, 95, allegedly clutching an axe and blocking a school bus from completing its drop-off.

While Horn made no threats, his stance reportedly hindered the bus’s path. Investigations pinpointed the root of Horn’s grievance: students disembarking onto his property. The Park Ridge Police Department has since cited Horn for disorderly conduct.
