Carpentersville, IL – A late-morning fire in a residential neighborhood left significant damage to a home Friday, though no injuries were reported.
According to the Carpentersville Fire Department, crews were dispatched around 11:39 a.m. to the 2300 block of Arrow Drive for a reported garage fire. Units arrived within minutes and confirmed an active blaze involving an attached garage that had extended into the home.
Firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack and conducted primary searches of the residence. Officials said the fire was brought under control shortly after arrival, preventing further spread. Secondary searches confirmed no occupants were inside the home at the time.
One neighboring resident was evaluated at the scene for possible smoke exposure but declined transport to a hospital. The homeowner was not present during the incident.
Authorities estimate the fire caused approximately $150,000 in damage to the structure. No firefighter injuries were reported.
