Ashkum, IL – A 48-year-old woman, JoEll Lemanager, lost her life in a rollover accident involving a lawn tractor on her rural property north of Ashkum.

The accident came to light on Thursday evening when a family member discovered her trapped underneath the mower in a 10-foot ditch.

While it remains unclear whether a medical issue precipitated the accident, authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. An autopsy will determine the final cause of death of her death.

The rollover accident prompted the Ashkum Fire and Riverside Ambulance to be notified at approximately 8:20 pm after Lemanager’s family made the grim discovery. The exact timeline of the incident, however, has not been determined.

Shockingly, the incident marks the second mowing-related death in Iroquois County within a just a week. On June 30th, 40-year-old August Crowley was found in a family pond alongside the mower he had been operating, with preliminary findings suggesting drowning as the cause of his untimely demise.
