Indiana Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase, Foot Pursuit on Interstate

East Chicago, IN – A 911 hang-up call from a residence on Deodar Street led to a tense situation Friday. Upon arrival, officers heard a disturbance and were alerted to a suspect, later identified as 25-year-old David A. Johnson of East Chicago.

According to police reports, Johnson fled the scene in a red Chevrolet sedan, leading officers on a high-speed chase through city streets. The pursuit escalated onto the 80/94 highway, where Johnson lost control of his vehicle, continued on foot, and was eventually subdued and arrested by the police.

Johnson now faces several serious allegations, including attempted battery with a deadly weapon, battery on a minor, domestic battery, auto theft, and resisting law enforcement. He is being held at the Lake County Sheriff Department Jail.
