Indiana man dies after SUV Collides with Semi-Trailer leaving Truck Stop

JASPER COUNTY, Ind. — A Crown Point man has died in a two-vehicle accident in Jasper County on Wednesday.

According to Jasper County Sheriff’s police, the accident occurred when a semi hauling a flatbed with two steel coils was exiting a truck stop at State Road 10 and I-65. As the truck turned westbound onto State Road 10, an eastbound SUV struck the trailer at a high rate of speed.

The 30-year-old driver of the SUV was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The names of the victim and the truck driver have not yet been released.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, and no further details have been provided at this time.
