Indianapolis, IN – Fire at Jefferson Ave Home Displaces Four, One Injured

Indianapolis, IN – A fire erupted at a home on 417 Jefferson Avenue this morning, leading to the displacement of four residents, with one sustaining minor injuries. 

The Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) responded promptly after multiple 911 calls reported heavy black smoke near Hamilton and Jefferson. Firefighters arrived within three minutes, encountering intense flames and smoke from the two-story structure. The occupants had evacuated before their arrival.

According to IFD, the fire was brought under control in 40 minutes through an aggressive attack, preventing extensive damage to neighboring properties. 

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the IFD/IMPD Fire Investigations Unit.
