Indianapolis, IN – Possible Tornados, Severe Weather Threatens Indianapolis 500 Race Day

Indianapolis, IN – Thunderstorms are forecast to continue over Central Indiana throughout Sunday.

According to the US National Weather Service Indianapolis, two rounds of strong to severe storms are expected, with the first wave already moving through the area and the second anticipated later this evening. These storms bring risks of damaging winds, large hail, and potential tornadoes.

The Indiana State Police have advised attendees at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to be prepared to seek cover. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is actively monitoring the weather and will provide updates as conditions evolve.
