Iowa Car Crash Near Mt. Joy Airport Results in Murder Charges Following Discovery of Woman’s Body

Scott County, Iowa – A routine car accident Thursday launched the Scott County Sheriff’s Office into a homicide investigation that led to significant charges against the driver involved. 

According to police reports the incident took place near the intersection of 90th and Harrison Streets in Mt. Joy, Iowa, close to the Mt. Joy Airport. What initially seemed like a typical traffic accident investigation quickly escalated when authorities found a deceased female in Park View, Iowa.

According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the driver, identified as Christopher Behal from Park View, was promptly arrested after being treated for his injuries at Genesis East Hospital. He faces allegations and charges of first-degree murder and several outstanding warrants. The victims identity remains undisclosed at this time, pending notification of next of kin.

The case is still under active investigation, with many details yet to be revealed.
