Jefferson County, AR – ASP CID Investigates Highway 79 Shooting Leaving One Dead

Pine Bluff, AR – In a somber turn of events, the Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has been summoned by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) to probe a fatal shooting incident. 

According to the JCSO, deputies were called to the scene along Highway 79 in Jefferson County early Sunday morning, where they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. Kavon White, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a female passenger, who also sustained injuries, has been treated and released from a Pine Bluff hospital. 

The case is being forwarded to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the cause and manner of White’s death. As investigations continue, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact CID Company B or their local law enforcement agency.
