Philadelphia, PA – Beachgoers across South Jersey and the Delaware coast are being urged to stay alert Saturday as the National Weather Service warns of a high risk of dangerous rip currents through the day.

According to the NWS office in Mount Holly, the region will see sunshine and low humidity Saturday, with highs ranging from 73–81°F. Northeast to east winds of 10–15 mph—strongest along the coastline—are fueling hazardous surf conditions. The risk of rip currents is especially elevated on Saturday, easing only slightly to moderate to high on Sunday.

While inland areas like Philadelphia, Camden, and Wilmington will enjoy mostly sunny skies and dry conditions, anyone heading to the beaches should avoid swimming in unguarded waters. Lifeguards are urging caution, and families with children are advised to remain onshore during peak tide hours.

By Monday, temperatures will rise into the upper 80s with continued dry weather, but beach risks may persist as onshore winds continue.

Warnings remain in effect through Saturday night. A new advisory will be issued early Sunday.
