Joliet, IL – In the latest development of the Joliet shooting case, Kyleigh Cleveland-Singleton, 21, has been arrested on charges of Obstructing Justice. Identified as the girlfriend of the main suspect, Romeo Nance, and mother of his child, Cleveland-Singleton was taken into custody and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
The arrest followed the investigation into the January 22 shootings at two residences on West Acres Road, which resulted in multiple fatalities. Cleveland-Singleton was located in Plainfield with her child and voluntarily went to the Joliet Police Department for questioning. Subsequent to her questioning, detectives believed she made statements allegedly aimed at preventing Nance’s apprehension.
The Will County State’s Attorney Office approved the charge following a review of the circumstances. This development forms part of the ongoing investigation, with further details yet to be disclosed.
