Kankakee County, IL – Residents on Alert as Flood Advisory Issued in Northeast Illinois

Kankakee County, IL – Residents of Bourbonnais and surrounding areas are advised to exercise caution as the U.S. National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory effective until 9:30 PM CDT due to excessive rainfall. The advisory warns of minor flooding in low-lying areas, urging the public to avoid floodwaters and prepare for potential impacts.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service, heavy thunderstorms have led to rapid rainfall, with up to an inch falling in some regions of Grundy County. 

Areas already affected by high creek and stream levels face an increased risk of flooding. Communities including Morris, Channahon, and Manteno, among others, are on alert. 

Residents should follow local safety guidelines and stay informed on the latest weather updates.
