Kankakee, IL – Family Displaced, Home Incurs $30,000 Damages After Truck Crash

Kankakee, IL – A family in Kankakee has been displaced following a dramatic incident early Sunday, where their home was struck by a pickup truck, resulting in damages estimated at $30,000. 

The crash occurred in the 1000-block of East Maple Street around 2 a.m., causing substantial structural damage to the residence. According to Kankakee fire officials, the truck was found embedded into the house, significantly compromising its structural integrity. The driver and a passenger were detained following the incident. 

Despite the severity of the crash, no injuries were reported. The house has since been deemed unsafe, forcing the family to seek alternative accommodations. No charges have yet been announced against either the driver or passenger of the truck.
