Kankakee, IL – The Limestone Township Fire Protection District has announced an important upgrade to their safety equipment, now featuring new self-contained breathing apparatus units.

According to a recent social media post by the district, the acquisition includes 36 air cylinders and two RIT Packs, a decision made after thorough research and testing to identify the best fit for the department’s needs. This enhancement, made feasible by a FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant, has been lauded for potentially elevating the department’s emergency response efficiency.

The district extends special recognition to MES Fire’s Eric Crabtree for his exceptional work in equipping the fire team with these critical tools.
