Kankakee Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Wanted Man, Tased Twice by Police

Kankakee, IL – Kankakee City Police arrested 19-year-old Jaylin James on Tuesday morning after a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Hillcrest Ave. 

James, wanted on an outstanding warrant, fled and resisted arrest, leading to police using a taser twice to subdue him. Despite being tased, James managed to remove the taser prongs during the struggle. The incident required several officers to bring him into custody. 

James was one of four individuals in the car stopped for a traffic violation. A loaded semi-automatic 9mm pistol was found on him during a subsequent search.
