Lake County, IN – Motorists in Lake County should anticipate lane and ramp closures on Interstate 65 near U.S. 30 beginning next week due to concrete restoration work.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation: Northwest, the project, which started in 2023, will cause I-65 to be reduced to two lanes in both directions between 61st Ave and 109th Ave, starting on or after Monday, March 18. The affected ramps from westbound U.S. 30 to southbound I-65, eastbound U.S. 30 to southbound I-65, and northbound I-65 to U.S. 30 will also be closed for approximately 10 days.
Post-completion, there will be overnight lane closures through mid-April for pavement marker replacement. The public is advised to prepare for altered traffic patterns, especially overnight, as the work wraps up next month.
