Lake County, IN – Police Issue Warning on Daytime Burglaries targeting Seniors

Hebron, IN – Police have issued a public safety announcement, alerting residents to be vigilant following a string of daytime burglaries in Portage and Lowell. 

According to the Hebron Police Department, two Hispanic males using a silver Kia with Illinois plates (806AA157) are allegedly involved in these crimes. The suspects, reportedly posing as water company employees, are using vests and walkie-talkies to appear legitimate. 

They allegedly operate by one distracting the homeowner, while the other commits the burglary. The police have emphasized that these individuals are specifically targeting elderly citizens. 

Residents are urged to report any suspicious behavior or sightings of the described vehicle by calling 911 immediately. This alert serves as a reminder for the community to remain cautious and report any unusual activities.
