Crown Point, IN – An early morning accident Tuesday saw several cows were killed when a herd collided with a vehicle in Lake County, Indiana.

According to Crown Point Fire Rescue, the crash occurred near the intersection of Mississippi Parkway and U.S. 231 around 3:11 a.m. The vehicle, identified as a Ford sedan, was severely damaged in the unexpected encounter with the bovine escapees from a local farm.

Out of the herd, seven cows were injured, some fatally. Remarkably, the driver managed to escape without the need for medical transport. The Crown Point Fire Rescue, alongside the farmer, engaged in cleanup efforts and safely conducted the remaining animals back to their farm.

The incident necessitated quick action to remove debris and clear the affected roadway.
