Lake County, IN – Lake County travelers are advised to prepare for detours as INDOT announces a major road closure on State Road 2 for bridge renovations.

Starting from March 18, the thoroughfare will be shut down between Calumet Avenue and Stateline Road until late June to facilitate the replacement of a bridge over West Creek ditch.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the official detour will reroute traffic via U.S. 41, State Road 10, State Road 114, and State Road 17.

Commuters should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra travel time or find alternate pathways during this period.
