AURORA, IL – Aurora Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man found inside a parked car Sunday night.
Several 911 calls alerted the APD telecom of a man being shot in the 400 block of West New York Street just before 10:00 PM. Responding officers found the victim with gunshot wounds inside a parked vehicle.
Aurora Fire Department paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of his next of kin.
Detectives from Aurora Police Department’s Bureau of Investigations have launched an investigation into the incident, and evidence technicians were called to the scene to collect forensic evidence from the shooting. The investigation into the homicide is ongoing, and Aurora Police urge anyone with information to come forward.
