COUNTRYSIDE, IL – A routine patrol check turned into a high-stakes police chase in Countryside on Wednesday evening, exposing multiple fake IDs in the process.

According to Countryside Police reports it began at 6:51 PM when a vigilant officer noticed a vehicle leaving the rear lot of a local business. The vehicle’s reportedly reacted to the presence of the officer and turn off its headlights, running several stop signs in an attempt to evade police.

Officers pursued the vehicle which turned into a high-speed chase that ended when the vehicle crashed into the parkway along the 5800 block of LaGrange Road.

One person exited the vehicle snd surrendered immediately, while four others fled on foot, prompting a swift response from multiple agencies including Countryside police, LaGrange Police Department, LaGrange Park Police Department, and the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department K9 unit.

All four were later caught and charged with local ordinance violations for the possession of fake or fictitious identification cards. The lone person who surrendered was released without charges.

The investigation revealed a deeper issue – the presence of a fake ID ring within the community. Three of the suspects were charged with local ordinance violations for possession of counterfeit identification cards. Dominic S. Holguin, a 19-year-old from Brookfield, IL, was identified as the driver and now faces more severe charges of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, and multiple traffic citations.
