Dramatic Nighttime Water Rescue: Chicago Firefighters Save Victim in Cardiac Arrest

CHICAGO, IL – A late Saturday night took a terrifying turn when an adult victim fell into the water near 5900 S Lake Shore Drive, prompting a daring rescue by the Chicago Fire Department’s Dive Team.

According to Chicago Fire Media, the incident unfolded in complete darkness and zero visibility, adding to the urgency of the situation. Braving the treacherous conditions, the skilled divers from the Chicago Fire Department swiftly reached the victim, who had gone into cardiac arrest. Despite the challenge, paramedics on the scene provided aggressive Advanced Life Support (ALS) care, fighting against the clock to stabilize the victim.

The victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.  The victim’s current condition is not known at this time.
