Frankfort Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Car Hauler Fire after Mechanical Failure

FRANKFORT, IL – Frankfort Fire Protection District and Matteson Fire Department responded to a car hauler fire at Harlem and St. Francis Road on Tuesday at approximately 9:34am. 

According to fire officials, the blaze was caused by a mechanical failure, which damaged the truck and one car being transported. No injuries were reported. 

Firefighters swiftly extinguished the fire, but southbound traffic on Harlem at Vollmer Road was diverted until around noon to prepare the damaged truck for transport. 

Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the damage and the cause of the mechanical failure.
