Chicago’s annual food festival, the Taste of Chicago, will take place in September this year, the city announced on Monday. While the festival will remain in Grant Park, it has been rescheduled for the weekend of September 8-10. This move comes after concerns were raised last week that the traditional early July dates would not be possible due to NASCAR’s Street Race weekend, which is set to take up a portion of Grant Park for nearly six weeks.
Grant Park is also already booked for other events, including the Suenos Music Festival and Lollapalooza from May 18 through August 13. To make up for the rescheduling, officials have added “Taste of Chicago pop-ups” in three different neighborhoods this summer: Humboldt Park on June 24, Pullman Park on July 15, and Marquette Park on August 5.
