DOWNERS GROVE, IL – Jordan Daurham, a 20-year-old resident of Downers Grove, is being held on a jaw-dropping $750,000 bond after an alleged armed robbery during a Snapchat-arranged meetup to sell three concert wristband tickets.

According to police reports, the incident happened June 24, 2023, near the intersection of Powell Street and Norfolk Avenue. Using Snapchat, Daurham reportedly set up a meeting to sell three Summer Smash concert wristbands at $100 each. However, the transaction took a terrifying turn when Daurham allegedly brandished a loaded black Glock handgun with an extended magazine, demanding the wristbands back from the buyer before fleeing the scene in a stolen black Hyundai Sonata.

Downers Grove Police conducted an intensive investigation, leading to Daurham’s arrest Wednesday, July 19th, outside his apartment.  Daurham was allegedly in possession of a Black P80 9mm handgun with an extended magazine, containing thirteen rounds of ammunition at the time of the arrest.

DuPage County State’s Attorney, Robert Berlin, expressed shock at the audacity of the alleged crime Friday and vowed to take a firm stance against such violent gun offenses. Daurham now faces multiple felony charges, including Armed Robbery, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Downers Grove Chief of Police, Michael DeVries, praised the diligent efforts of the officers, evidence technicians, and investigators who swiftly made the arrest. He also extended gratitude to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office for their invaluable support during the investigation.

Daurham’s next court appearance is scheduled for August 18, 2023, for arraignment before Judge Mia McPherson.

Authorities are cautioning the public to exercise extreme caution during online transactions and meetups and encourage individuals to report any suspicious activities promptly. Most police stations now have Safe Internet Purchase Exchange Zone in Police Department and Public Works parking lots under video surveillance to avoid such encounters.
