Roof Fire Erupts at Illinois Theater Stricken by Tornado in March Tragedy

Belvidere, Ill.– A roof fire broke out at the Apollo Theater in Belvidere, where just a few months ago a devastating tornado had caused numerous injuries. 

The incident occurred around 1 pm Monday afternoon, when flames were spotted engulfing the theater’s roof.

The Apollo Theater had already suffered a tragic event on March 31, 2023. During that calamity, the theater’s roof and awning collapsed, claiming the life of a 51-year-old man and leaving 48 others hospitalized. The collapse occurred during a concert, with around 260 individuals inside the theater.
