Lewis University Professor Killed Returning from Church in Grundy County Crash

Minooka, IL – The Lewis University community is in shock and mourning following the tragic death of Computer Engineering Professor Lucien Pideu Ngalamou, 56, in a devastating two-vehicle crash. The incident occurred at the intersection of O’Brien Road and Minooka Road in Grundy County on Saturday night.

Preliminary findings suggest that Ngalamou, had stopped at a stop sign for southbound traffic on O’Brien Road. As he attempted to turn east onto Minooka Road, his vehicle was struck by an oncoming westbound car, resulting in a fatal collision.

Ngalamou was reportedly returning from church in Yorkville, was rushed to the Morris Emergency Room but tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly before midnight. The Lewis University community is left grappling with the loss of a professor who had a profound impact on both his students and colleagues.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to this heart-wrenching accident.
