Iroquois County, IL – Fatal Crash Claims Life of Local Man, Severely Injures Woman

Watseka, IL – A car crash in Iroquois County on Monday morning resulted in the death of a Cissna Park man and severe injuries to an Ashkum woman. 

According to investigators the incident occurred just before 9:40 a.m. at the intersection of 1600 East and 1900 North in rural Watseka. Responding to the scene were Iroquois County Sheriff’s Deputies, Crescent EMS, and the Watseka Fire Department. Authorities identified the deceased as 77-year-old Rodney Windhorn, who was traveling south on 1600 East. Windhorn reportedly failed to stop at the clearly marked intersection, colliding with a van driven by 66-year-old Rhonda Kollmann, who was traveling east. 

Windhorn was pronounced dead at the scene. Kollmann was transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to another facility for further treatment. 

The Illinois State Police are assisting in the investigation, which remains ongoing.
