Harbor House, the domestic violence agency serving Kankakee and Iroquois Counties, will host the Kankakee County First Responders Appreciation Brunch on Saturday, March 11th, at 10 a.m. The event will take place at the College Church of the Nazarene, located at 200 University Ave in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
The brunch is intended to recognize the essential and often unrecognized work of first responders in Kankakee County, including law enforcement, fire, dispatchers, medical professionals, and others. “We are thankful for the life-saving services provided by brave first responders, especially to survivors of domestic violence, and are looking forward to celebrating their critical work,” said Jenny Schoenwetter, Harbor House CEO and Executive Director.
First responders in Kankakee County are invited to attend the complimentary brunch, where they can enjoy live music, guest speakers, fun activities, and learn more about Harbor House’s support for their work. Attendees will also receive a thank-you bag of goodies and be entered to win prizes.
The event aims to provide a platform for first responders to come together and connect with one another while enjoying a meal and learning about services that could aid them in their line of work. Harbor House CEO and Executive Director emphasized the event’s inclusivity, stating that all first responders, regardless of their specific role, are welcome to attend.
