Hit-and-Run near Route 1 Leaves Local Car Owner Fuming

Grant Park, Ill. – A hit-and-run incident on Taylor Street between Maple and Route One has left a local resident with a damaged car and no information on who is responsible. 

According to Grant Park Police, the incident happened on March 17, 2023, at about 8:00 PM, and the offender fled the scene after hitting the parked car.

The Grant Park Police Department is investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to come forward. They are also checking surveillance cameras in the area to help identify the offender.

The car’s owner is left with the costs of repairing the damage, and the police are appealing to the offender to turn themselves in before the situation gets worse.

“Anyone has any knowledge of this please come or contact the police department.  If you are, the offender come to the police department before this gets much worse.” the Department said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

No estimated damage in the incident was given.

The police department is continuing its investigation, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact them immediately.
