WINFIELD, IN — An alleged prostitution probe has sent shockwaves through a northwestern Indiana community today as multiple businesses, including a popular massage parlor and a series of restaurants, were raided by the Winfield Police Department.
According to Winfield Police reports, the sting, originating from community complaints tied to the Jade Massage parlor in Winfield, allegedly unveiled a sprawling illegal network, with reported ties to sex trafficking and other alleged fiscal crimes.
“We also began investigating other locations owned by the couple that own Jade Massage, which include Yamato restaurant located at 10819 Randolph St. in Winfield, Relax Massage located at 1451 E Summit St in Crown Point and Sakura Restaurant located at 204 S. Main St. in Crown Point,” Police said in a statement late Wednesday night. The investigation, which has been quietly intensifying over the course of ten months, led to the permanent closure and license revocation of the implicated businesses.
The raids, supported by the Northwest Indiana Regional SWAT Team, mark a significant turning point for the community as it reckons with the scale of the criminal activities.
An investigation into the allegations is now ongoing with multiple agencies.
