PONTIAC – A handful of officials at Pontiac Corrections Center have been fired after failing to respond to a hazing and harassment complaint in 2018.

The Illinois Inspector Generals office says in a report details of allegations at Pontiac of hazing and harassment of an employee were reported that year to officials.  The IG’s office says after investigating an inappropriate prank was played on the former employee officials including the Warden, two assistant wardens, and others at the prison failed to adequately respond.  The result was continued harassment for the former employee.

Multiple officials have since been terminated at the prison.  A detailed list of those terminated has not been made available.
