FRANKFORT – Lincoln-Way East High School parents were left in shock after learning Tuesday bus service had been canceled for later this week.

Superintendent Dr. Scott Tingley notified families in an email Tuesday morning that Lincoln-Way East would be without bus service this Thursday, August 25, and next Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

“We are hopeful that this will be temporary and the busing issue can be resolved soon. But until that time, we will continue to work through these obstacles and provide quality opportunities for your students.” Lincoln-Way East High School Principal Toriano Griggs said in an email to parents tonight.

Students will be able to report an absent those days if they are unable to get to school by having their parents call the attendance hotline at 815-464-4010. Students who currently drive can continue driving to school.

The school is asking for cooperation while additional vehicles report to the grounds during this time.
