Construction Nightmare: Barrier Collapse Traps Worker in Illinois

East Joliet, IL – A construction nightmare occurred overnight Thursday on I-80 at Richards St. when the a barrier collapsed, leaving one person trapped under concrete. 

East Joliet and New Lenox Fire Departments mounted a daring dual rescue. The trapped worker was freed and rushed to the hospital.  No word on the victim’s current condition.

No further details surrounding the incident have been released.
