Homer Township – A quiet Wednesday night in Homer Glen turned into a nightmare as an Illinois teen lost her life in a heart-wrenching three-vehicle accident on the 17000 block of S. Cedar Rd. In the unfolding tragedy, one life was cut short, and another now hangs in the balance.

Will County Sheriff’s deputies rushed to the scene at 11:42 pm Wednesday night.  Reports indicate the initial collision involved a 2009 Nissan SUV, driven by a 42-year-old Lockport resident, who is currently in critical condition.

Tragically, the 18-year-old Lockport resident behind the wheel of a 2004 Dodge sedan did not survive. Will County Coroner’s Office identified the teen Thursday morning as Abigail F. Thomas of Lockport, who succumbed to her injuries just before 2 a.m. today.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
