Fatal Two-Car Crash in Lockport Leaves One Dead, Another Critically Injured

LOCKPORT, Ill. — One person has died and another has been critically injured in a two-car head-on crash in Lockport.

The crash occurred around 7 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of S State St and Grandview Ave. Lockport police report heavy entrapment at the scene, requiring a significant response from emergency personnel.

The Will County Coroner’s office has confirmed the death of one individual. The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Another person was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

Police are advising the public to avoid the area while they investigate the cause of the crash. The intersection of S State St and Grandview Ave is expected to be closed for several hours.
