Missing Illinois Juvenile Rescued in Iowa Thanks to Facebook Breakthrough

MONEE, Ill. – A missing juvenile has been safely rescued in an operation facilitated by a breakthrough on Facebook. 

According to Monee Police, received information about a newly created account linked to the runaway girl. Detectives used online resources to trace a cell phone number, leading them to a 32-year-old male truck driver. With assistance from the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office, they located the suspect’s truck at a southwestern Iowa truck stop. Deputies swiftly took the girl into protective custody. 

The Monee Police Department ensured her safe return home and continues the investigation. Cooperation between agencies was key to the success.
